Uhlinger .32 Rimfire SN 1725 spur trigger revolver for auction. iron frame with 5" octagon barrel and rosewood grips. All show very good condition, barrel blue drifting to plum patina marked JP Lower, early Denver gun dealer. Frame shows approx. 20% finish, the remainder gray brown patina, cylinder blue drifting to plum with sharp matching serial number, lower ramrod with repair to pivot

These revolvers were made from 1861 to 1865 by William P. Uhlinger of Philadelphia. Most were unmarked except for the serial number because the revolver was an infringement on a Smith & Wesson patent. This particular example is marked. Several different versions of this revolver were produced in .32, .22 and long cylinder .22.

This example is unmarked from the more common Cone, Washington, Grant, or Lower barrel stamps. Interesting revolver! 5 inch octagon barrel clearly stamped "W.L. Grant" on the top flat. Additionally the butt is stamped "USN" in tiny letters.
